[ - it's just a little strange to take a glance out the window (except there isn't a window) and see that the city...isn't a city anymore. And it's true that Axel was more than a little fazed at first, mainly because it looks identical to that weird world by the name of Wonderland in his universe.

The presence of the second level, however, dispels any sort of fabricated hope that he's somehow back home.

Yet he couldn't care less.]

Nice change, isn't it, Template? Well - for those who like it, anyways.

[even if it is a city that he can't leave, there's no point in making that worse by remaining inside all the time. So Axel doesn't really need much of a reason to occasionally go for a walk outside.

Trust the city to give him one. You see, Nobodies - replicas or not - aren't supposed to dream, much less have nightmares so real they would send his heart pounding if he had one. Since he doesn't, he woke up instead with lovely scratches along his arms and a particularly noticeable one along his left cheek, right below his tattoo. Seeing how those scratches are in the same place as the cuts he received during that nightmare, he's not too inclined to stay in his room while he figures out why.

So he's a little more distracted than usual, taking only minimal care not to bump into the the denizens of Template as he walks along. But the sight of hearts - candy hearts even - falling from the sky is enough to (temporarily) drive musings out of anyone's head, especially if some of them start falling on your head. Lucky that Downtown has plenty of awnings.]

If there's supposed to be irony in this, I'm not seeing it now.

[for someone who practically is a double-edged sword, the ones that this Template chooses to throw at him aren't really worth focusing on beyond that first moment of realization. They've fallen into a pattern, even; no powers and emotions, or no emotions and powers. Predictable. Boring.

This, though - this is something entirely different. The emptiness is familiar, and so is the fiery power coursing through him. The intensity, however, is not. When Axel appears on the second level, there's fire flickering around him, the flames a glowing violet-black so bright it might as well be white.]

About time. It's a shame to be all dressed up with nothing to do, though.

[such a subtle invitation, because what good are doubled powers if there's no chance to test them out? His voice is light and mocking; like his smile, it conceals the other, deadlier edge. The reactivated tick-tock hasn't changed, measuring Axel's remaining time with frustrating precision, but it feels wrong somehow. Sped-up. Too quick, as if he's now losing two days of his life for every one day he doesn't fulfill the order he was given. He knows that this, like the others, will mostly likely be temporary if it follows the pattern. If it doesn't...well, he's a little too heartless to waste what time he has left on boring pursuits.]

[and Axel finally comes to, but it's not a gradual awakening. One gloved hand clutches together suddenly, as if seeking to grip a weapon, and he immediately attempts to sit up. He makes it, though it looks like the movement's taking a fair bit of his current strength, fingers digging into the wood of the pew.]

F-fuck. What hap -

[a wince cuts off his words, his breath coming to him ragged and painful. Maybe he shouldn't be talking right now. It's obvious he didn't just let himself be taken by whatever it was that attacked him; there are a couple of bruises and half-healed cuts on his face, and he might have a few bruised ribs as well, judging by the way his other hand is pressed to his side.

For a moment, there's nothing but silence - yet it could be called contemplative. Axel tilts his head slightly to the side, eyes focused on nothing particular, listening. Then inexplicably, he laughs, a sound both incredulous and amused.]

Guess once wasn't enough for ya, Template.

[on the first level, a portal opens in the Courtyard of the Business District, vanishing as soon as Axel walks out of it. The sudden swirl of darkness does get a bit of a reaction from a crowd milling around the shops, mainly in the form of voices raised in curiosity. But for once, Axel isn't looking to make a dramatic entrance - there's a hint of purpose to his otherwise casual steps that implies this is more than just him visiting a part of Template he's not too familiar with.

It doesn't mean he's completely absent from the second level, however. Just that his main focus is elsewhere. Feel free to ask what he's up to/bother him/wonder why he isn't wearing much else aside from his usual Organization garb/etc.]

[lounging on a tree branch in Memorial Park on the first level, gradually fading into existence in the same location on the second level. This isn't your typical pink-and-purple-striped Cheshire cat costume - no, the ears and tail resemble the ones on this version - earring, tattoos, and all. The only difference is that they match the dusky red hue of Axel's hair, but that doesn't make them any less...strange. Aside from those additions, he looks as usual as always.

If it were not for the fact that there's a most peculiar smirk on his face.]

[on the second level like any other normal person. Except for the fact he's manipulating fire. The unusual-colored flames are swirling around in the air, their wielder off to one side, gesturing lazily to make them shift forms and/or change direction. There doesn't really seem to be any structure to what he's doing, unless it's one that no one else knows except for himself - and even then it probably couldn't be expected to stay the same.

What is constant, however, is the other reason behind his actions. Axel hasn't yet hacked anything using the second level since he's gotten here, but thanks to a little inspiration from Ed, he's willing to try and see what happens. No sense in letting a skill go to waste, especially not one as useful as this one.

And what better opportunity to do so than when people are distracted with something else?]

(OOC: Because godmodding is bad, please specify whether or not you want Axel to attempt to "hack" information about your character? :D)

[the end of all this is ringing one too many bells in Axel's mind. Finding out that the family part was just a fake doesn't have as much an impact as finding out that you are the one isn't real, created to follow another's every whim. And the abrupt realization now was better than the process of having to search for and put the elusive pieces together then.

But it's close enough to leave him with a bit of resentment against this Template. The only so-called consolation is that he hadn't been alone in either situation.]

[While he's not overjoyed about what's happened to him, being turned human does - as Axel found out recently - have its perks. He really couldn't care less about how he's got a heartbeat now. Nope, the fact that the tick-tock is no more is far more noteworthy.

Though he doesn't know how long this will last, he'll take all the extra time he can get. And he's certainly not going to waste it waiting for his blindness to go away (if ever, but that's something he'd rather not think about).

So have an accidental-second-level Axel. With a blindfold on. Trying to walk without bumping into anything on the way. Because there's no Sora (currently) around to tell him not to.]

[the radio clicks on. The static can't even be heard over (or distinguished from) the sound of crackling flames, punctured frequently by gunshots and metal hissing through the air - in this case, chakrams. The radio also manages to pick up the sound of someone running and shouts from the police, but the words are too garbled to make out.

When Axel speaks though, he's relatively decipherable despite being out of breath. And he might sound just a little pissed off. Having this many cops are chasing after him is no mystery after hearing ou!Axel's little announcement.]

Gee, I wonder why I'm so popular today.

[and no more from him. That is, unless you happen to be near that hooded figure in a black cloak who's currently fighting off an unusually large number of policemen. :|]

[have some unintentional second-leveling. Axel's shirtless in front of the mirror in his bedroom, trying to look at his back. He knows he felt something there right after he showed up in this place. And with the thing about the bruises now, well...Axel's allowed to be a little paranoid, even if he hadn't had any dreams involving haunted houses and strange ladies.

Though he doesn't find any bruises, he does manage to catch a glimpse of this near his left shoulder blade. Upon spotting it, he narrows his eyes.]

What the hell...

[in his experience, markings always implied you belonged to someone or something - like what the other two he has on his body represented. What's this one, the city itself trying to claim him? No thanks. Axel turns away from the mirror and starts putting on his shirt and Organization coat again, a less-than-pleased look on his face.]

Well, this is definitely not where I'm supposed to be. But I'm guessing it's not Template. The Superior would have a seizure if this many people were wandering around the city. Never seen a guy so defensive of a big stretch of emptiness in my life.

So...anyone wanna do an awesome guy a favor and give me a heads-up on this place? Hope the rest of you aren't as stingy about info as some of the people I've met. Didn't even get so much as a "hi how're ya" from them. Makes you wonder what the world's coming to.
